Mrs. Janice Marie (Ferrell) Newcomb, 59, went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, February 8, 2010 at Duke Medical Center, Durham, NC, after a long illness.
The daughter of Bobbie (Teer) Ferrell and the late James R. Ferrell, Janice was born in Durham on October 26, 1950 and graduated from Durham High School. Having been employed by Duke Athletics for over 30 years, she also was employed by H&R Block for 15 years where she taught tax courses for 5 years. She then was the owner of Newcomb's Tax Service.
Survivors include her beloved husband, Larry; mother, Bobbie Teer; daughter, Lisa Hinson; and grandchildren Morgan Yount and Tyler Hinson.
A Memorial Service for Janice will be held on Saturday, February 13, at 2:00 PM at Horton Road Church of God, 1210 Horton Road, Durham. Participating in the service will be Mr. Robert Russ and Pastor Mark Stevens.
Cremation Society of Virginia – Southside, Inc. is serving the family.
