Mr. Ralph Michael Barbar, 72, of Chub Lake Street, died Thursday, Feb. 4, 2010, at Person Memorial
Hospital.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
The family will be at the home of Mr. Barbar's son, Jerry Barbar, on Providence Road.
Mr. Barbar was the son of the late Jerry F. and Elizabeth Barbar of Hyattsville, Md.
He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Liza B. Barnette.
He is survived by his wife, Regina Chapman Barbar of the Brian Center in Yanceyville; two sons, Stephen Barbar and wife Suzanne of Belmont, Mass. and Jerry F. Barbar and wife Angela of Roxboro; a daughter, Michelle D. Barbar and Mary Larraz of Gaithersburg, Md.; three grandsons, Collin and Quintin Barbar of Belmont, Mass. and Noah Joliff of Springfield, Va.; three granddaughters, Lora Carlin of Coltons Point, Md., Nicole Barbar of Bedford, Va. and Hope Barbar of Roxboro and a son-in-law, Michael Barnette of Roxboro.
Mr. Barbar graduated from Northwestern High School in 1956. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps, having served from 1957 to 1959.
The Cremation Society of Virginia is in charge of arrangements.
